Computer
Is an electronic device that can perform calculations. At a basic level it is anything that processes input and gives output.
Monitor
Screen that displays data from a PC. Typically a flat- panel display, such as an LCD.
I/O (Input/output)
General term for reading and writing data to a computer. “Input” includes data entered from a keyboard, identified by a pointing device (such as a mouse), or loaded from a disk. “output” includes writing information to a disk, viewing it on a monitor, or printing it to a printer.
CPU (Central processing unit)
“Brain” of the computer. Microprocessor that handles primary calculations for the computer.
GPU (Graphics processing unit)
Specialised processor that helps CPU by taking over all of the 3-D rendering duties.
Ram (random access memory)
Memory that can be accessed at random that is memory that you can write to or read from without touching the preceding or dress this term is often used to mean a computer’s main memory
Motherboard
Flat piece of circuit board that resides inside your computer case and has a number of connectors on it. Every device in a PC connects directly or indirectly to the motherboard, including CPU, Ram, hard drives, Optical drives, keyboard, mouse, and voice cards.
Power supply unit
Provides electrical power for a PC. Convert standard AC power into various voltages of DC electricity in a PC.
SATA (serial ATA ) port
A connector that connects the hard drive or the optical drive to the motherboard.
HDD (hard disk drive)
Data – recording system using solid disk of magnetic material turning at high speeds to store and retrieve programs in data in a computer
SSD ( solid-state drive)
Data storage device that uses flash memory to store data.
NVME (Non-Volatile Memory express)
Is an SSD technology that uses m.2p c l e connector on the motherboard
M.2- M dot 2
Type of space – efficient expansion slot common in recent portable computers. it’s often used to install an nvme sssd.
Flash Memory
Are types of chips that are used for short or long data storage
USB thumb drive
Are flash devices have a standard USB connector
Optical Disc
Generic term for shiny, 12 CM wide discs such as CD – ROM, CD-r , Cd-rw, DVD, DVD + r w, bd – r, bd- re
Network
Group of two or more computers that are connected and that communicate with one another for a common purpose
Ethernet port
Is a receptacle On the motherboard for a RJ- 45 Jack to provide internet or a network between computers
RJ-45
Is a connector for 8-wire Jack; Usually found in network connections.
