What is implicit?
The message it comes around the choice of words, picture, music. What the message makes you feel.
What is explicit?
Stated or shown directly, such as the product being sold. you could put your finger on the print, the picture, the message.
What is denotation?
The literal definition of a word.
What is connotation?
The feeling you get from a word. What the word implies.
What is logos?
Appeals made to our sense of logic. Does this make sense?
What is Ethos?
Appeals made to our sense of right and wrong. Is this ethical?
What is pathos?
Appeals made to our motions. This feels good!
What is target audience?
The group that the Ad wants to reach and influence.
What is emotional appeals?
Creating strong feelings to help the viewer remember the product.
What is loaded words?
Words that have powerful sensory or motional connotations such as silky, fresh, crunchy.
What is purr words?
Words Picked by advertisers to create a positive feeling in the viewer.
What is bandwagoning?
The message says that everyone is doing it and you want to be a part of the group!
What is transfer
Connecting a product to a desirable image. You want the image so you’ll buy the product!
What is repetition?
Repeating a name or important selling point over and over again to help the viewer remember the product.
What is VoiceOver?
The spoken words during a commercial.
What is chronological order?
Time ordered sequence of events.
What is fanboys?
Fanboys is an acronym that is used to remember conjunctions!
