Evolution
- a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex of better form .
- change in species over many generations as a result of natural selection
Microevolution
-small changes that occur within populations of a species each generation
Macroevolution
-changes produced over many generations including the appearance of a new species
Natural selection
-process in nature where only the organisms best adapted to their environment tend to survive and transmit these advantageous traits to their offspring.
Gene drift
-change in genes that occurs in a small isolated population
Gene flow
-exchange in genes that occurs as isolated populations interbreed
Mutation
-change in genes caused by shock or accident that change an individual’s DNA
Foramen Magnum
- the hole in the base of the skull through which the spinal cord enters
- if centered it means bipedal
- if not centered it means quadruped

-a bony ridge located above the eye sockets of all primates
