Laryngeal manipulation- why?
cases of hyperfunction- elevated larynx
where will pain be found when palpated?
thyrohyoid ms
superior ridge of thyroid cart
inferior border ofhyoid bone
goal of digital laryngeal manipulation?
lower larynx
decrease supralaryngeal m tension
how do you do laryngeal manipulation?
place thumb and forefinger in the thyrohyoid space starting at the anterior aspect of thyroid cart and move posteriorly
move larynx side to side then downward
pay attention to pain

RVT
Resonant voice therapy
what does RVT do?
trains the patient to decrease resonation at the level of the larynx
What are you doing durin RVT?
increasing intraoral pressure and increasing vibratory sensations in nasal and facial structures
