Q

Leitmotif meaning

A

A Leitmotif is a recurring theme in a play, or movie, which is associated with a character, or although quite uncommon, an object. It can help to foreshadow when a character is going to appear, and can have variation, based on the characters state. For example, if the character dies their motif can become minor, and sad. A motif also describes the characters personality. Wagner created Leitmotifs and they’re still used today.
