Q

Collecting a sample of pure water method

A
  1. pour sample of salt water into a conical flask with a condenser attached to it
  2. heat the salt water with a bunsen burner
  3. Water has a boiling point of 100 degrees, which is lower than the boiling point of the salt
  4. The water will boil and evaporate before the salt does, into steam
  5. The steam then goes through the condenser where it cools and condenses into a liquid which is the pure water
  6. the salt remains in the conical flask
  7. to check if water is pure, heat it again and see if it boils at 100 degrees, as it is the boiling point of water
