What is the first step of water pratical?

Answer 1

-Check PH of water if not 7 contains dissolved acidic or alkalic substances however 7 doesn’t necessarily mean pure

Question 2

How due you carry out practical in order to find out if pure water?

Answer 2

-Weigh empty evaporating basin and record mass
-Fill evaporating basin with water sample and place on tripod and gauze
-Use Bunsen burner to heat water until fully evaporated
-Weigh it again if there are dissolved solids mass will increase due to crystals formed on evaporating basin
-If it didn’t increase no dissolved solids so could be pure
