Water Test Flashcards
Liquid Water
Water in its liquid form, H20.
Evaporation
The process of liquid water turning into its gas state, an invisible vapor commonly referred to as water vapor.
Coagulation
Water is sent to a large basin, where it then is slowly stirred while alum is added periodically.
Flocculation
Once the coagulation process is finished, the water is stirred, where the little pieces of alum-water clump up into small “floc” particles, suspended in the water.
Sedimentation
Once the flocculation process concludes, the “floc” particles settle into the bottom of the water, and then the water above is clear, and less dirty, since all the dirt and grimy dust settled to the bottom.
Filtration
layers of sand and rocks (and tiny pebbles) that sift them into a very pure collection of drinkable water.
Distribution
Conclusively, water is usually stored in a collection basin or reservoir. Then, it’s pumped through pipes into your home!
Wastewater
Water, after you use it.
