Upset Nose high
- Recognize and confirm the situation.
-Disengage autopilot - disconnect autothrottle.
- nose down elevator
- Apply nose down stabilizer trim.
- Reduce thrust.
*Roll for nose Down
Complete the recovery:
• when approaching the horizon, roll to wings level
• check airspeed and adjust thrust
• establish pitch attitude.

Call out attitude, airspeed and
altitude throughout the recovery.
Verify all required actions have been
completed and call out any
omissions
Upset Nose Low
- Recognize and confirm the situation.
- Disengage autopilot and disconnect autothrottle.
- Recover from stall, if required.
*Roll in wings level
Recover to level flight:
• apply nose up elevator
• *apply nose up trim, if required
• adjust thrust and drag as required
PM
Call out attitude, airspeed and
altitude throughout the recovery.
Verify all required actions have been
completed and call out any
omissions.
Stall
Simultaneously call “STALL” and :
Nose down elevator
Reduce thrust If needed
When out of stall (stall indications have stopped):
ROLL WINGS LEVEL*.
INCREASE THRUST SMOOTHLY AS REQUIRED.
CHECK SPEEDBRAKES RETRACTED.
MAINTAIN EXISTING GEAR AND FLAP
CONFIGURATION.
If in clean configuration during lift-off:
CALL “FLAPS 1”
GROUND CONTACT NO LONGER FACTOR
- check speed adjust thrust
- establish pitch
- return to flight path
- AP / AT on
PILOT INCAPACITATION
what are symbols ?
1) Does not respond to 2 verbal challenge
2) Single verbal challenge and significant deviation
What do we do?
1) assume control and ensure safe flight profile
2) autopilot engaged
3) “In charge flight attendant report to the flight deck”
4) In charge (or other crew) shall
- tilt seat back
- move seat full aft , pedals forward
- move head back
- use shoulder harness
5 - replace crew with another crew member if possible
