What Is Weather?
Short-term changes in the Atmosphere, temperature, precipitation, etc in the Atmosphere day to day.
What Is Climate?
Weather trends over long periods of time. Averages over time.
What Is High Pressure?
Air that is more dense. Molecules are close together. Wants to move to low pressure area.
What Is Low Pressure?
Air that is less dense. Molecules are farther apart.
What Is The Coriolis Effect?
The rotation of the earth causes the wind to appear to curve.
What Is Circulation?
Water and air moving in a circular pattern.
What Is Salinity
The amount of salt in something.
What Is Rain Shadow?
Where one side of a mountain does and does not get water.
What Are Clime Zones?
Zones in specific climates. (Polar, Temperate, Tropical)
What Is Altitude?
The height of an object is above ground (or sea) level.
What Is Precipitation?
Part of the water cycle, when water falls to earth and hail, rain, snow, or sleet.
What Is Wind?
The movement of the air due to uneven heating of the Earth’s surface.
What Is Latitude?
The horizontal lines on a map or globe, it measures the amount north or south from the equator a location is.
