How many primary edit tools does Pro Tools provide?

What are the 6 primary edit tools in Pro Tools?
Zoom Tool, Trim Tool, Selector Tool, Grabber Tool, Scrubber Tool, And Pencil Tool
What is the function of the Trim tool?
Trim tool will allow me to adjust a boundaries of a clip
What is the function of the Selector Tool?
Make and adjust selections, ex. make selections if you want to delete or cut something out.
- Click and drag to make a selection
- Click at one point hold the shift key to extend the selection to that point
- Hold the shift key to modify the selection
- Make Selection Vertically between tracks
What is the function of the Grabber tool? aka The hand Tool
The Grabber tool is used for selecting and repositioning my clips in my session
What is the function of the Scrubber tool?
The Scrubber Tool allows me to scrub a certain section scratch effects type
What is the function of the Pencil tool?
- Pencil Tools is used for automation can draw on automation
- Can be used to redraw waveforms ex. if there is a click or pop can redraw the waveform to the zero-crossing point which is just a straight line
- Can be used to draw notes on the piano roll
What is the function of the Smart tool?
The bar that connects all of the mail tools were using click it (Trimmer, Selector + Grabber)
- If I have my cursor at the top half of the track it’s gonna be a selector tool.
- If I place my cursor at the bottom half of the track its gonna be my grabber tool
- if I take the cursor to the beginning or end of any clip thats gonna give me the trim tool
- To Fade go to the top right corner of my clip click and drag to create a fade-out
What is the function of the Fade tool?
Ensures that all of my clips transition smoothly, that they start and end smoothly without clicks and pops
