Week 11/12 Flashcards
(10 cards)
What is an advantage of repeated measures
As participants take part in every condition, we can attribute some variance in performance to individual differences
What does this variance due to individual differences do to the variance of the ANOVA error term
It removes variance from the ANOVA error term
Is repeated measures or between groups more powerful
Repeated measures
How do you calculate the number of interactions
2(to the power of k) - k - 1 = number of interactions
When is normality and sphericity etc assumed and violated
If it is under 0.05 it is violated as there is a significant difference
If it is over 0.05 then it is assumed
What is Levenes test used for
They test the error level across groups
What is Mauchly’s test for
It tests the error level across different times
What is boxes test for
It tests the error level across both groups and time
How many time points needed for Mauchly’s Test of Sphericity and what type of design is it used for
Minimum of 3 time points and it is always within subjects
When is a homogeneity of variance test used
If it has more than one group
