What is Cryosurgery?
Destruction of lesions using extreme cold.
What is Excision?
Cutting or taking away; surgical removal of tissue or organ.
What is Incision?
To cut into; surgical cut into body or organ.
What is Suture?
Unite parts together by stitching; stitches used to close a wound.
What is Transplanting?
Act of grafting of tissue from one source to another area.
What is Kyphosis?
Abnormal curvature of the spine.
What is Open Treatment (of a fracture)?
A fracture site that is surgical open to visualize the bone.
What is Tendonesis?
Suturing one end of the tendon to the bone; surgical fixation of a tendon to bone.
What is Laryngoscopy?
Viewing of the larynx using a fiberoptic scope.
What is Thoracostomy?
Surgical incision into the chest wall and inserting a tube for drainage.

Creating an opening in the trachea.

Incision into the trachea.

A lead that carries an electrical current from a generator to the arteria or ventricular.

Blockage of a blood vessel by a clot that has moved from another area of the body through the circulation system.

Procedure to obtain fetal blood sample (from the umbilical cord).

Surgical removal of the ovaries.

Binding or tying off.
What is Amniocentesis?
Procedure aspiration of amniotic fluid (using a needle).
What is Curettage?
Scraping of body cavity with spoon shaped instrument.
What is Ectopic?
Pregnancy outside of the uterus.
