  1. direct exposure to trauma
  2. witness in person the event as it occurred
  3. Learning that a close relative/friend experienced a traumatic event
  4. Experiencing repeated or extreme exposure to aversive details of the traumatic event

combat, disasters, victimization, community violence, school violence, neglect, traumatic grief, medical trauma, early childhood trauma (ages 0-6), complex trauma
