Week 7 Flashcards
Fresnel Zones, Free Space Path Loss, Interference, Fading, and Multipath (6 cards)
Explain Fresnel zone
Fresnel zone is used to explain how the RF signal is spread and received by the antenna.
Contain 2 zone,1FZ, 2FZ
If >40% of 1FZ block, performance suffer, link fail
Whats is FSPL and how it work
Free space path loss
Calculate loss of signal strength through free space
FSPL= 20log10(d) +20log(f) + 32.44
d= distance between transmitter n receiver in m
F= frequency in Hz
Explain diversity antennas
Multiple antenna used to improve reliability of network. Reduce fading, interference and signal dropout.
Spatial diversity, assuming in an area, some place have wavelength issue while possible other part does not face it
Explain MIMO
Multiple input Multiple Output
Use multiple antenna to increase throughput, efficiency
Uses spatial multiplexing and beam forming
Explain spatial multiplexing and beam forming
Through spatial multiplexing, receiver can compare signals, and connect to stronger signals
Beamforming is more towards focusing the energy towards the transmitter
Use of omni directional antenna
Create a point to multipoint bridge link
Radiate signal power uniformly in direction of horizontal plane, ideal for broad coverage
