- Can cause significant, sometimes fatal, bleeding. Do not use in active pathological bleeding or history of Intracranial hemorrhage
- Aspirin dose and ticagrelor effectiveness in patients with acute coronary syndrome: maintenance doses of aspirin > 100 mg daily reduce the effectiveness of ticagrelor and should be avoided

- Clopidogrel is a prodrug; therefore, reduced antiplatelet activity in patients who are homozygous for nonfunctional alleles of CYP2C19 gene (termed “poor metabolizers”). Consider use of another platelet P2Y12 inhibitor in these patients
