How Did SyRI Work?
SyRI used:
A risk model
= a formula based on predefined indicators (e.g. certain data patterns) to flag areas or individuals as high-risk.
A risk indicator
= a piece of data suggesting a violation might occur.
Authorities would pool and analyse big data from different departments to flag “suspicious” cases in specific neighbourhoods, as shown in the diagram (notes)
SyRI What Was the Problem?
