William body visited the town to oversea the destruction of church images. People rioted ten men hung drawn and quartered

Protests across Cornwall came together under leadership of sir Humphrey ardenell due to dislike of new prayer book

Rebellion occurred when a new service was used in the church and a member of the gentry was killed. This force marched to meet ardenell and 6000 men
