Substance
A material where each part of it is made of the same type of particle. No two particle types have exactly the same properties.
Mixture
A combination of two or more substances whose particles are not joined together.
Property
A characteristic of matter that can be observed or measured.
Solution
A substance is matter that is made up of one type of particle with unique properties.
Solid Mixture
A mixture is a combination of two or more substances.
What are some examples of solid mixtures?
Sugar water, saltwater, and wood are examples of materials that are mixtures. Forks, spoons, and air
What are some examples of solutions?
Sugar water, salt water, air
What are some examples of substances?
Sugar, water, and table salt are all substances.
What are some ways you can separate mixtures back into subs
If it is a liquid you can either let it evaporate, or use heat to make it evaporate. salt and sugar, you can separate the pile into two piles, one of salt and one of sugar. The salt particles and sugar particles did not join together, and you could separate them out eventually.
