Q

Why did students protest about WASPs?

A

The WASPs were the only group of people to prosper after World War II whilst the rest of the population was suffering.

Many of the protestors were children of the WASPs who did not want to continue their parent’s way of life and therefore ‘dropped-out’ of society.

Q

Why did students protest about the Vietnam War?

A

The war was fought against Communism but many people believed it was an unfair war and that the USA were using too much violence to stop the spread of communism.

Many people began to support the enemy and many students burn draft cards to stop them from entering the US army.

Ex-soldiers who fought in the war burnet their discharge papers and refused to accept bravery medals as a sign of protest.
