Winder Stair Calc Flashcards
(5 cards)
Define walk line
The walk line is a assumed line of travel that an individual would use when as sending up and down the stairs.
It is the shortest possible route that a person would travel which is closest to the inside turn
Define walk line radius
Walk line radius is based on a theory that the unit runs take. At the walk line on theee angular treads should be like the unit run of the straight ight stairs leading to and from the winder
Calculate Walk Line Radius
C ÷ 2 π= r
3 unit runs would = 90*
12 unit runs would = circumference (360*)
12 x unit run = circumference
C ÷ 12 = urun 1 segment of circumference
(C ÷) 2 x 3.1416= radius
Round up to next full mm = walk line radius
The walk line is always considered to be
450mm from the inside of the stair
Therefore the layout point for a winder nosings cannot be less then 450mm
In any 30* ,60* ,90* triangle
The hypotenuse is twice the length of the base
The base is one of of the hypotenuse
And the hight is √3 (1.732) times as long as the base
