Wing Walker Brake Rider Flashcards
(27 cards)
How many people does it take to move an aircraft without brakes or under icy conditions into the hangar?
- add two chock walkers.
How many people does it take to move the aircraft into the hangar?
- MC safety observer. plane handler. port and starboard wing walkers. tail walker. brake rider. buddah driver.
How many people does it take to move an aircraft on a taxiway?
- plane handler. buddah driver. brake rider.
When moving a plan on the taxiway and bringing it to the ramp, when do your wing walkers move into position?
As soon as the aircraft is in the throat, clear of the taxiway but has not entered the ramp yet.
Who has ultimate control of the aircraft hen moving it into or out of the hangar?
The plane handler. MC is the “second set of eyes” and another safety observer.
Can you tow an aircraft with stress panels missing?
No. With the exception of the stress panels located at the top of the cowl doors on the engine. if towing with a stress panel missing you need to have an engine support beam installed.
Where can you find information on a missing access panel to determine if it is a stress panel?
NA–01–75PAA–2–1 WP 5 PG 46 Table 3
How many stress panels are on the P3?
10 on the fuselage, 8 on the engines, 8 on the wings.
Who connects the battery and ensures it is connected on the plane moves?
Brake rider connects it. Plane handler ensures its connected.
Where is the battery voltage gauge located and what is the minimum battery voltage allowed for a plane move?
Located on the FWD load center. Minimum 22VDC.
What is the operating pressure for the brake accumulator?
800 +/- 25PSI and is charged up to 3000PSI
What is the pressure range for the EBB?
1900-3000PSI of Nitrogen
Where is the brake accumulator and EBB located?
In the HSC (hydraulic service center)
How long does it take to charge the brake accumulator with the 1B pump if the system pressure is at 800PSI?
2.8-3.2 minutes to fully charge the brake accumulator, but it will not come on if the pressure is 2200PSI or above.
How long does it take the 1 or 1A pump to charge the brake accumulator?
3 seconds.
How long is the parking brake good for when initially set?
30 hours.
Where does the plane handler stand during the move?
In view of the driver and brake rider at all times.
Where is the 1B pump located?
Port side in the HSC between pumps 1 and 1A.
What do you do if you cant get the tow bar off after a move?
Ensure the tow bar is centered. if it still wont come off call the Airframers.
Where is the SAR bar usually stowed in the aircraft?
In the rack by the main cabin door, on the wall or under the galley seat.
Can you move the aircraft without a SAR bar?
Yes, but the main cabin door must be closed.
Can you move the aircraft with the tie down chains or chocks hanging off the aircraft?
No
Can you move the aircraft without a pilot seat?
No
What needs to be done when an aircraft is put into the hangar?
Open the APU safety switch door and switch it to safety mode, drip pans placed under each engine and connect the grounding wire.
