Another leader in the abolitionist and woman’s rights movements that that helped Elizabeth Stanton organize a convention in Seneca Falls that more than 300 men and women attended.
Sojourner Truth
A former slave famous for speaking out for both abolition and women’s rights.
Temperance Movement
Movement to ban the drinking of alcohol. Mary Vaughn was a main supporter of this. People who were involved in this movement gave lectures and wrote about the evils of alcohol.
Suffrage movement
A movement to give woman the right to vote. Involved mostly whites.
