Introduction - Word Production
A
The listener and the communicator are the two sides to communication.
Comprehension and production are different. The speaker needs to have an idea and has control, whereas listeners have less control. Input differs. Production is slower than comprehension which is good as have time to understand. Production lags behind comprehension in acquisition.
Adults know around 50-100,000 words and can produce 2-4 words per second.

Explain the conceptualization stage of language production
A
Where the idea you want to convey is generated alongside message generation and decision making as to what to say and what not to say. Decisions made in order to ensure that listener has matched understanding.
