What does Censure mean? Think Snape
To express sever disapproval of someone or something, especially in a formal statement. (Severus Snape, it’s literally in his name)
Empathy is
The ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
What does Pretentious mean? Think Harry Potter in the fifth book.
To act of greater importance than you actually are, like Draco Malfoy in the first five books
Mundane is what? (“he’s a mundane Clary”)
Lacking of interest, boring or dull.
Connotation meaning
An idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning. (Cottage versus cabin in the woods, one is death the other is nice)
Benevolent (Think in sarcastic sense, then revoke that)
Well meaning and kindly.
Anachronism (think coffee cup)
Something that is misplaced in time, like the Game Of Thrones Starbucks coffee cup when the show is set in Medieval times.
Substantive (You know that book series you read once where people could dream walk and the dream leaked into reality? Yeah the opposite of that)
Having a firm basis in reality and therefore important, meaningful, or considerable.
Assiduous (Not the demon god, like the opposite of the demon god)
Showing great care and perseverance.
Fortunatus (Percy Jackson dragon)
Fortunatus is a Latin word meaning “happy, lucky, rich, blessed”.
Delusional (fantasy)
A person who has ideas that contradict reality.
Enigma (Like the moon an Enigma)
A strange, mysterious person or object that is hard to understand. (The Strange Case of Jekyll and Hyde)
Acrimony (Snape to James Potter)
Bitter hostility or ill feeling.
Auspicious (We struck gold!)
Favorable, or conducive to a sign of future success.
Banal.
I don’t even know what to put here the word describes itself
so lacking in originality as to be obvious and boring, common. Used in a sentence: He doesn’t like English poetry, he finds it very banal.
Waver (Peter Pettigrew’s loyalty to James Potter)
To sway back in forth, or to waver in will.
Antagonism (Don’t antagonize him)
Active hostility or opposition.
Pragmatic, not to bring a rouge into a casino
Dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.
