Work, Energy and Power Flashcards
(6 cards)
What is the formula for work done on an object by a constant force?
Work done (W) = F * x * cos(θ)
Where F is the magnitude of the force, x is the magnitude of the displacement, and θ is the angle between the force and the displacement.
What does the Work-Energy Theorem state?
The work done on an object by a net force is equal to the change in the object’s kinetic energy.
What is a Conservative force?
A force for which the work done in moving an object between two points is independent of the path taken.
What is a Non-Conservative force?
A force for which the work done in moving an object between two points is dependent on the path taken.
What is Power in terms of work?
Power is the rate at which work is done or energy is expended.
