SafeWork Australia
SWA is an Australian government statutory body established in 2008 to develop national policy relating to WHS and workers’ compensation.

SafeWork NSW is the state’s workplace health and safety regulator. It focuses on harm prevention and improving the safety culture in NSW workplaces. Model WHS laws
n 2011, Safe Work Australia developed a single set of WHS laws to be implemented across Australia. These are known as ‘model’ laws. For the model WHS laws to become legally binding, the Commonwealth, states and territories must separately implement them as their own laws. The model WHS laws include: the model WHS Act the model WHS Regulations model Codes of Practice.

Work Health and Safety Act (2011)
This legislation provides a framework to protect the health, safety and welfare of all workers at work. It also protects the health and safety of all other people who might be affected by the work.
