a plant like micro-organism that most likely causes disease in people with compromised immune systems

worm-like micro-organisms that are usually injected as eggs through bad water or food

Hepetitis is swelling of the liver and has three different viral causes. A is usually acute, B and C can be chronic. A and B are avoidable by vaccine. Spread through fecal matter (A) or bodily fluid (B & C)

bacterial disease usually affecting the lungs. Transmitted through the air.

Influenza is a viral disease causing fever, cough, and sore throat with aches

Varicella is a viral infection that causes itchy blisters on the body. This disease lies dormant after it is treated and may re-emerge as shingles.
Define meningitis
Inflammation of the membranes covering the spinal cord and brain. Can be caused by virus, bacteria, protozoa, or fungi

Inflammation of the lungs, particularly the alveoli. Symptoms include coughing, chest, pain, and fever. It can be viral, bacterial, fungal, or from protozoa

Aka Rubella. Transmitted by airborne droplets and transplacental. Infection caused by rubella virus.

Aka pertussis. Transmitted by airborne droplets and respiratory secretions. Bacterial cough lasting up to 100 days
Define Staphylococcal skin infection. Aka?
Aka staph infection. Transmitted through direct contact with lesion or infected area. Bacterial infection that can attack multiple body systems and can be lethal.
Define SARS
Sever Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Flu like infection of the lungs from the corona virus. Transmitted by airborne or direct contact
Define AIDS
Acquired immune deficiency virus that evolves from HIV. Transmitted through bodily fluid. Destroys the body’s ability to fight infection.
