Nationalism
Devotion to your country
Self determination
The process by which a country determines it’s own statehood and forms it’s own allegiances and government.
Neutrality
The state of not supporting or helping either side in a conflict.
Trench warfare
A type of combat in which opposing troops fight from trenches facing each other.
Conscription
Enlistment into the armed forces.
U - boats
Submarine had restricted and unrestricted warfare.
Lusitania
Large passenger ship that was sunk by German submarines.
Isolationism
United States wanted to stay separated from the world (not join ww1)
Alliances
A partnership formed between countries for mutual benefit.
Propaganda
Exaggerated ideas/statements that are spread to help a cause.
Central powers
Our enemies in ww1 Germany, Austria Hungary
Allied powers
Our allies in the war France and England.
Woodrow Wilson
President of the United States during ww1. The 28th president.
No man’s land
The space in between trenches that is not claimed.
