What was the Battle of Stalingrad?

Blitzkrieg (Lightning War) was Germany’s strategy to avoid a long war during World War II in Europe.
What were Kamikaze fighters?
They were Japanese suicide bombers who flew planes directly into the Allied ships.
What was the Battle of El Alamein?
1942-British victory in WWII that stopped the Axis forces from advancing into Northern Africa. Axis army of Italy and Germany suffered a decisive defeat by the British Eighth Army.

The code name for the Allied invasion of Europe at Normandy on June 6, 1944; also known as D-Day

Dangerous top-secret infiltration on Japanese soil. Many Chinese Canadians were enlisted in order to conduct maneuvers such as sabotage, ambush, and unarmed combat.

Where were the atomic bombs dropped and why?
America dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This prevents a long and costly war by forcing Japan to surrender, America shows its power and they get retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbour.
What was Island Hopping in the Pacific?
The Americans strategy to stop Japan from their terror was to select key islands about 400 miles apart, instead of targeting every single island.

The practice of burning crops and killing livestock during wartime so that the enemy cannot live off the land

Lebensraum (living space) is a policy that was a part of the Nazi racial program. It stated that “inferior” races should be conquered and enslaved so that the “superior” Germans could have more living space.

D-Day is the commemoration of the invasion of Normandy. The Allies planned to use naval and aerial bombardment to knock out German defences.
