A

Japanese were planning to conquer the midway islands but the americans intercepted and defeated them. this ended the japanese’s streak of victories. Americans now controlled the pacific and japan was on the defensive.

A

starting in march 1943, the US started a secret $2 billion project to create an atomic bomb. It was successful in 1945. On aug 6 1945 truman decied to drop the atomic bomb on hiroshima. on aug 9 1945 another one was dropped on nagasaki.
