What followed the declaration of war?
The phoney war; a period of time where no fighting happened, or any developments in the war.
What happened in Norway/Finland?
Germans invaded both countries for resources, and also to The Allies use of the channel between them
Why did germany want poland?
Because of the polish corridor, room for the aryan race (hitlers ultimate goal), natural resources, they shared a border with the soviet union.
Why was the invasion of poland the trigger?
Because britain and france realised appeasement had failed and pledged military support to poland (they were seen as a target)

How did hitler invade france?
Through belgium, france had left some undefended territory…. britain and france werent allowed to put soldiers in beligum… hitler used the blitzkrieg tactic to disorient the allied forces… france was ultimately invaded, with the south of france kept as a puppet government. Britain had to escape from Dunkirk.
