A

making peace treaties with countries that could be a threat to him esp. france and scotland; wants a couple of trade deals to get him out of debt; good alliances that could protect him should he need it; no invasions please i beg

A

reliance on marriages; the auld alliance presents the threat of a 2 front war; the male heirs he had arent looking so reliable now, and once elizabeth of york dies, who knows if he can have many more

signed in march 1489. agreed on marriage of the two; catherine’s dowry was 40k; spain promises to not aid any english rebels; some trade agreements thrown in there for fun

spain isnt willing to send their lass over when england is a bit dangerous dealing with perkin warbeck, uprising etc. but other than that henry is thinking big. maybe he can marry joanna (catherines sister) to philip of burgundy so spain & burgundy are mates and england has an alliance with burgundy by association
