the image that we have of ourselves generally thought of as our individual perceptions of our behaviour, abilities and unique characteristics

what is cystic fibrosis?
an inherited condition in which the lungs & digestive system can become clogged with thick, sticky mucus
physical effects of cystic fibrosis?
-thick sticky mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs
-reduced lung function
- chest infections
- digestive issues
-more likely to have diabetes, liver disease & infertility
emotional effects of cystic fibrosis?
-low self esteem
-sadness/depression as life can be limited
- lonely as have to avoid people due to infections
- scared about future or the treatment
social effects of cystic fibrosis?
-avoid relationships as cannot be long term
- frequent illness impacts social life
- misunderstood so people may avoid them
what is passive smoking?
The involuntary inhaling of smoke from another persons cigarette or vape. Children are more susceptible to the effects of passive smoking.
physical affects of alcohol misuse?
-liver disease
-heart disease
-sleep disorders
-depression
-stroke
-some types of cancers
emotional impacts of alcohol misuse?
-depression as emotions are not real
-worried about future due to illness
-sad as relationships are infected
-low self esteem as appearance affected
social effects of alcohol misuse?
-lose friends & family due to altered behaviour/arguments
-money used for alcohol so cannot join social outings
-work is effected as hungover or need drink to get through the day.
