What is an anecdote?
A short and interesting story or personal account used to illustrate a point or engage the audience.
What are Aristotle’s Appeals?

What is the difference between Static and Dynamic Characters?
Static characters do not undergo significant change, while Dynamic characters undergo significant change over the course of the text.
What is Direct Characterization?
When the author explicitly states a character’s traits.
What is Indirect Characterization?
The author shows the character’s traits through their speech, thoughts, effect on others, actions, and looks.
Who is the Protagonist?
The main character.
Who is the Antagonist?
The character who opposes the protagonist to create conflict.
What is a Foil?
Characters who contrast each other to highlight the qualities of the main character.
What is Imagery?
Descriptive language that appeals to one or more of the five senses to create vivid mental pictures for readers.
