Q

What was observed?

A

Bright and dark fringes caused by wave superposition.

Dark fringes by destructive interference and bright by constructive

Q

Why was Huygen’s Theory still not accepted?

A

1) It assumed light was made of longitudinal waves.

2) Light could be polarised so it couldn’t be longitudinal.

3) Could not explain double refraction
