what can jews do on shabbat?
relax, celebrate, read the torah, go to the synagogue
what can’t jews do on shabbat?
do any work, cook, do household chores, light or extinguish fire

symbolic foods eaten or displayed on pesach
what were the ten plagues of egypt?
water turning to blood, amphibians, gnats (lice), flies, disease on livestock, unhealable boils, hail and fire, locusts, darkness and death of first born
what is a covenant?
an unbreakable promise
what did god promise abraham?
will give abraham the promised land, he will have more decendants ten stars in the sky and give him a son
what did abraham promise god?
he will leave his homeland, worship the one true god, circumsise all the males in your household
what did moses promise god?
all jews will obey the mitzvoit (commandments) and worship god
what did god promise moses?
he will protect and remember you, he will be your god and he’ll give you the promised land

(you shall) have no gods before me, not make idols to worship, dont take gods name in vain, not kill, not commit adultery, not steal, not bear false witness, honour your father and mother, remember sabbath day and keep it holy, not covet thy neighbour’s possessions

the tears of the slaves

the mortar used making bricks as slaves
what does a roasted egg represent?
a new life after Egypt
what does parsley represent?
a spring veggie and sign of new life
