New: Move and Copy Individual Cards on Mobile

Good news for anyone fine-tuning their study materials for Fall finals (or anything you’re prepping for). You can now move and copy individual flashcards directly in the mobile editor, for any decks where you have Edit permissions.

All the flashcard editing tools you know from our computer platform are now available anytime, anywhere, right from your phone!

This Pro feature gives you full control over where each card lives. You can:

  • Copy & place a card into another deck or another spot in the same deck
  • Move a card to a new position or a different deck entirely
  • Choose the exact position where the card should appear
  • Work across classes as long as you have Admin permission

If you’re polishing your notes before exams, this makes reorganizing your material smoother and a whole lot faster. Just open the mobile editor, tap the copy or move icon on any card, pick the class, deck, and position, then sync. Done.

Give it a try the next time you’re studying on the go. And if you’re heading into finals, good luck. You’ve got this.

Other features we're currently working on

  • Q/A reversal on web: Flip the script so that you’re shown the answer side of your flashcards first and are challenged to recall the question (promotes deeper learning).
  • Continued web study algorithm updates: Make your study experience in Brainscape as easy, efficient, customizable, and painless as possible.
  • AI Flashcard Copilot: Improve your flashcards one-at-a-time, using AI to simplify, answer, or elaborate on the questions that you type into the Editor.

Keep an eye out for these awesome new features in the coming weeks and months. Remember that we prioritize many Brainscape features based on your feedback, so always remember to suggest your ideas in our Feature Request Forum.

Discussion of the month

We’ve all heard the study “rules”: highlight everything, study in total silence, never cram. But not every piece of advice works for every learner.

So tell us… What’s one old study tip or rule you’ve ditched (and why)?

Share your wisdom (or rebellion) in this month’s discussion thread, and help fellow Brainscapers rethink how they study smarter.

New Certified Flashcards

Behind every certification is an expert who’s already mastered it, and we’re lucky enough to work with them.

Brainscape’s newest Certified Collections were created in partnership with world-class educators and organizations, all built to make high-stakes studying smarter, not harder.

Latest additions & glow-ups include:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) updates made in partnership with The New NP’s Brittani Holsbeke
  • ITIL 4 Foundations covering the essential framework for IT Service Management
  • CIPP/US in partnership with Dr. Kyle David helps privacy and compliance pros master U.S. data protection laws

Whatever your passion, challenge, or career path, we’ve got you covered.

New Video: Are flashcards helpful for people with ADHD?

Ever sit down to study and suddenly find yourself deep in thought about… pigeons? 🐦 (Yeah, us too.)

In this new video, Andrew breaks down why flashcards work so well for ADHD and easily-distracted learners and how Brainscape helps your brain stay active, focused, and rewarded while you study.

If your mind tends to wander mid-study session, this one’s for you.

Say “Hi!” to Brainscape’s Assistant Content Manager, Melissa Cortes

If you’ve ever wondered who helps keep Brainscape’s content engine running smoothly, meet Melissa Cortes, our Assistant Content Manager and unofficial guardian of “let’s make this the best version possible.” Melissa is all about improving processes. She can spot a tangled workflow from the other end of the room, tiptoe over before anyone else notices, and turn it into an elegant, well-oiled machine.

Melissa’s philosophy is simple. She consciously and deliberately gives one task her full attention, sees it through, and then moves on. Her proudest accomplishment has been helping grow and support the content team itself. From mentoring new writers to improving systems that make everyone’s jobs easier, she’s played a big role in expanding our study library. It’s especially rewarding for her to know that our work helps people to study smarter every day.

If she could share one thing with users, it’s how deeply the Brainscape team cares about learning. We’re obsessed! Every flashcard, every feature, every article is built by people who genuinely want a world where learning is smart, faster, and more effective.

And when she’s not perfecting Brainscape’s workflows? Melissa is a creative fiend: DIY decors, scrapbooking, cross-stitching, and even experimenting with acrylic pour painting. Anything hands-on that lets her get creative is her jam!
