Professional ethics
A set of moral principles that govern your professional behaviour that you are expected to uphold as a requirement of your profession.
Validation
The empathetic response that indicates one person is listening to another or indicates reassurance or approval.
Reframing
Reflecting s persons message to provide an alternative point of view without belittling the persons experience.
Supportive communication
Verbal and non verbal behaviour produced with the intention of providing assistance to others perceived as needing that aid.
Person centred message
Communication that reflects one persons ability to identify what another person may be experiencing .
Sympathy
Feeling of compassion or sorrow felt for someone who is experiencing stress
Empathising
Understanding what another person is feeling or thinking in a situation and experiencing similar thoughts or feelings as a result of interacting with them.
