Niche
The specific role or function an organism plays within its ecosystem, encompassing its habitat, resources, and interactions with other species and the environment.
Realized niche vs. Fundamental niche
The fundamental niche represents the full range of environmental conditions a species could occupy, while the realized niche is the actual range of conditions a species does occupy, often limited by interactions with other species like competition or predation.
Mutualism
A type of symbiotic relationship where two or more species benefit from interacting with each other
What is likely to happen if the niches of two species overlap a little? Overlap a lot?
Mild competition, potentially leading to resource partitioning or coexistence
Compare and contrast different interspecies interactions, give examples of each type
