What is tawhid
Allah is the only god
He alone created the earth and sustains it
Tawhid encompasses all the beliefs about the nature of Allah
What are key beliefs about the nature of Allah
Infinite - without beginning or end
Omnipotent - created the universe
Omniscient - sees all creation
Merciful and Benevolent - he helps humans by sending messengers who help people to live a good life
Transcendent - beyond human understanding
Immanent - involved in human lives
Fair and just - Allah will judge them on day of judgement
Why is Tawhid important for Muslims
Important and Muslims try to live their life according to the will of Allah
Allah acknowledges everything so they will try not to sin
Everything they have is because of the will of Allah and so they are completely dependent on him. This means they could be humble
Shirk - idolatry
