Q

Loop

A

Description: 360* turn in the vertical plane with constant heading and nose track

Config: 230-250 KIAS, MAX Power
Check: Pre Stall
Clear: Turns, TCAS, Visual

  • Wings level, report entry altitude and heading
  • Pull 4 G’s in 2 to 3 seconds
  • Increase right rudder as airspeed decreases
  • Slowest at top of loop (100-120 KIAS)
  • Decrease right rudder as airspeed increases
  • Aquire horizon/reference line pullout on entry heading & altitude with 4 G’s

Wingover

A

Description: 180* reversal in flight direction through a smooth climbing turn for 90* and smooth diving turn for 90*

Config: 200-220 KIAS, ~70% Power
Check: Pre Stall
Clear: Turns, TCAS, Visual

  • Set reference point 90* off wingtip
  • Start gradual climbing turn to reference point
  • Approx. 45 Degrees UP after 45 Degrees of Turn
  • At Ref point; 90 Degrees AOB, Nose on Horizon, through 90 Degrees of Turn
  • After 90 degrees of turn, begin to roll out o AOB
  • Approx 45 Degrees of AOB at 135 Degrees of Turn
  • Rolling Pullout, airspeed should be the degrees below the horizon from entry airspeed.
  • Immediate repeat other direction

Check: Pre Stall
Clear: Turns, TCAS, Visual

  • Set 90 reference point
  • Wings level, clear overhead, report entry altitude and heading
  • Smoothly pull with wings level
  • Approx 20 Degrees nose up, roll and pull towards 90 reference point
  • 45 degrees of turn, AOB 90 Degrees, Nose 55-60 UP
  • Continue rolling, until wings level, inverted pointed at 90 degree reference point, 100-120 KTS

Cuban 8

A

Description: Modified Loop and Immelmann

Config: 230-250 KIAS, MAX Power
Check: Pre Stall
Clear: Turns, TCAS, Visual

  • Recheck wings level and clear above
  • Report entry altitude over ICS
  • Pull 4 G’s in 2-3 seconds
  • Increase right rudder as airspeed decreases
  • Passing vertical, look back to opposite horizon and section line
  • Nose approaches 45 Degrees low, relax back stick and roll upright
  • Initiate pull up approx 205-210 KIAS to reach horizon at entry airpseed

Config: 230-250 KIAS, MAX Power
Check: Pre Stall
Clear: Turns, TCAS, Visual

  • Lower nose slightly to accelerate to 230-250 KIAS
  • Recheck wings level, clear above, and report entry altitude over ICS
  • Check wings level as nose pass horizon
  • Passing vertical, tilt head back and locate horizon
