WPD involving medical emergency incidents to assess the nature of the medical emergency, summon the appropriate medical support personnel for assistance, and render aid to the victims until relived by advanced/basic life support personnel

Immediately notify WFD with type of emergency, location and number of victims
Dispatcher must be EMD trained

When shall dispatch send patrol

Answer 3

Motor vehicle accidents
Industrial/residential accidents that involve life threatening injury or death
All medical emergencies involving actual or suspected criminal act
When a police car is closer and can help
Police are needed to maintain order

First responder responsabilites

Asses the medical emergency
Advise communications of life threatening or not
Determine if a criminal act has occurred
Request addition personnel as needed
