How does the integumentary system change with age?

A
  1. Skin is thinner, drier, and fragile. Prone to skin tears, pressure sores, and infections.
  2. Skin is less elastic
  3. Protective fatty layer is lost and person feels colder. Ability to feel heat, pain, and cold is reduced due to having fewer nerve endings.
  4. Hair thins turning grey/white.
