Some people attended an exhibition. 242 of them were men, 5/8 of the remaining people were woman and the rest children.2/9 of the people who attended the exhibition were children. Find the number of people who attended the exhibition.

Answer 1

Children=2/9=6/27
Woman=10/27
6/27+10/27=16/27
1-16/27=11/27
242/11=22
22x27=594      Answer: 594

Question 2

Jodrell had some marbles. 62 of them were purple, 22 of them were yellow and 2/3 of his remaining marbles were red. The rest of the marbles were grey. The grey marbles made up 2/9 of the total number of marbles he had at first. How many more yellow marbles than red ones had Jodrell? (I myself am confused while writing this :D)

Grey marbles=2/9 of total marbles Jodrell had at first.
1-2/9=7/9
2/9+2/9=4/9
62+22=84
84/3=28
28x4=112

Question 3

Melanie had some money. She spent $125 on a watch and 1/4 of his remaining money on a belt. He was then left with 4/7 of the money he had at first. How much did Melanie spend in total?

4/7=12/21(12u)
1-12/21=9/21

5u=125
1u=125/5=25

Raelynn had a sum of money. She spent $260 on a mobile phone and 3/5 of the remaining money on a video recorder. He then had 3/10m of the sum of money left. How much money did Raelynn have at first?
