Exhibitionism
Disorder marked by recurrent and intense sexual arousal from exposing one’s genitals to unsuspecting and nonconsenting persons
Fetishistic behavior
Similar to fetishistic disorder but without clinically significant distress or impairment in functioning, whether engaging in solitary sexual behvaior or with a partner
Fetishistic disorder
A paraphilia in which the individual seeks sexual gratification primarily through contact with an object, such as shoes or underwear, which is closely associated with the body
Fetishists are mostly male, and fetishism starts in adolescence
The individual can masturbate with the fetishistic object or incorporate it into sexual intercourse. These behavors must cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other functioning.
Frotteuristic Disorder
Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from touching and rubbing against a nonconsenting person
Paraphilic disorder
A disorder in which an individual seeks sexual gratification primarily through a means considered abnormal by society.
This is reserved for those cases in which a sexual deviant fantasy or impulse has been expressed for at least 6 months.
Include: fetishism, voyeurism, exhibitionism, sadism, masochism, transvestism, and pedophilia.
Pedophilic disorder
Form of paraphilia in which a person has acted on intense sexual urges toward children or experiences recurrent sexual urges toward and fantasies about children that cause distress or interpersonal difficulty.
These sexual urges or behavior are generally directed toward a prepubescent child or children of age 13 or younger.
This generally doesn’t include an individual in late adolescence involved in an ongoing relationship with a 13 year old.
Sexual masochism disorder
Deriving of sexual gratification or the tendency to derive sexual gratification from being physically or emotionally abused or humiliated.
Sexual sadism disorder
Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from the physical or psychological suffering of others
Vaginismus
An involutary muscle constriction of the outer third of the vagina that causes marked distress or interpersonal difficulty and interferes with sexual intercourse
The diagnosis is not made when there is an organic cause for the disorder or it is better accounted for by another mental disorder, such as somatic symptom disorder.
Best treated with behavioral therapy once organic etiologies have been ruled out and the diagnosis established.

Prognosis of paraphilias
They tend to be chronic and life-long, without any particularly effective interventions
Therapy for paraphilias
CBT can be helpful (desensitization, relaxation techniques, avoiding triggers)
Patients with sadism disorder may be a threat to others, and may require involuntary admission.
