  1. Make sure there is adequate power and the device is functional
  2. Camera lens are clean and free f debris and the camera is facing the intended direction
  3. recording mechanism is capturing both audio and video and the subsystem plays back both audio and video
  4. Any malfunctions are reported to supervisor and determine if the device needs to be placed into service
  5. Damage, loss, or theft shall be reported to a supervisor upon discovery and an officer memorandum created
