Q

Describe structure of the testes?

A
  • Made up of lobules 200-300
  • each lobule contains seminiferous tubules (site of spermatogenesis)
  • seminiferous tubule anastomose into plexus called rete testis
  • efferent ducts arise from Rete testis these ducts pass into the epididymis (piercing tunica albuginea)

A
  • Testicular artery branch of inferior mesenteric
  • Testicular veins which splits into plexus of veins called pampiniform plexus
  • Right testicular vein drains to the IVF
  • Left testicular vein drains to the left renal vein

Q

what are the seminal vesicles?

A
  • coiled, sacculated tubes which lie at base of bladder
  • join with the vas deferens to form ejaculatory ducts which then travel through the prostate where they join the urethra
