Q

When to use Exploratory sequential mix-methods research?

A

when you don’t know a lot about the topic: first qualitative, then use qualitative to build quantitative method

Q

When to use Explanatory sequential mix-methods research?

A

When you know a lot and try to explain- first quantitative, then followed by qualitative to explain the quantitative finding

Q

Why is mixed-method used?

A

When more than one method is needed -i.e. Exploratory sequential or explanatory sequential
When one data point is not sufficient- ie. convergent evidence
Exploratory research needs to be generalized- Exploratory sequential
One data source may be insufficient
A second method is needed to enhance a primary method
A theoretical stance needs to be employed
f) An overall research objective can be best addressed with multiple
phases or projects
