Vancouver Canuck pnched Colorado player from behind and slammed him face first into ice, guy suffered broken neck and concussion and never returned to the NHL. Assailant given 30 game suspension, canucks fined 20000 bucks and was charged and convicted to 80 hours of community service.

A

Son of former NHL goalie playing in the junior league skated the length of the ice to attack his opposing goal keeper during a bench clearing brawl-punched repeatedly without his opponent retaliating. Roy charged with assault, pleaded guilty, sentenced to community service.
